Postdoctoral Fellow Dr. Kaila Bertsch accepted a new position as a Postdoctoral Researcher with the Materials Science Division at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory. There, Kaila will work on additive manufacturing, hydrogen effects on materials, and electron microscopy. We are excited for this advancement of Kaila’s career and wish her the best. The Lab welcomes postdoctoral research associate Celal Kursun. Celal earned two PhDs from Kahramanmaras Sutcu Imam University in 2015 (Materials Science and Engineering) and 2017 (Physics). Celal will research bulk amorphous glasses. Welcome, Celal!
Phalgun Nelaturu will join the Alloy Design and Development Lab as a postdoc working on a DOE-funded project to research 3D printed alloys for molten salt technologies in renewable energy applications. Phalgun obtained his PhD in Materials Science and Engineering from University of North Texas in 2016.
The Lab is excited to welcome Baily Syring, an undergraduate student in the Materials Science and Engineering department. Baily will work as a research assistant to support metal alloy synthesis and processing, material characterization, and property evaluations alongside graduate students and postdoctoral fellows.
